The MSF specializes in working with military spouses to seek out the best career, freelance or entrepreneurial path through a myriad of diagnostic tools that analyze their passions, personality, career goals and lifestyle needs.
This program is the first comprehensive career and entrepreneurial program of its kind, designed by military spouse professionals who have spent years learning how to "reinvent" themselves and their career paths to accommodate an ever changing military lifestyle.
The current market provides "pieces" of the puzzle in education, career support and the needs of the entrepreneurial spouse - but there has never been one comprehensive program that prevents "gaps" in the journey. The MSF is closing those gaps by helping spouses find out where they really fit in the work or business force (Diagnostics), how to prepare themselves for what is ahead (Learning Series) and how to capture the dream they are going after (Buddy Mentors & Resource Paring).
HOW OUR PROGRAM WORKS:
Step 1 - Intake Meeting with a Career or Entrepreneurial Counselor (Review initial Profile Submitted by the Military Spouse)
Step 2 - Diagnostics are completed (Passion Assessment, Personality Assessment, Career & Goal Assessment, & Lifestyle Assessment)
Step 3 - Team of Counselors Analyze the Data and provide a career, freelance, educational or entrepreneurial recommendation.
Step 4 - Military Spouse is enrolled into a 6-week Learning Series: Find Your Passion/Reinvent Your Career, The Life of an Independent Contractor/Freelance Agent, The Entrepreneurial Experience or Find a Degree/Certification Program that matches your passions. Courses are held online with an instructor or in a workshop on a local base. 2011/12 Learning Series Options!
Step 5 - At week four, each student is paired with a Buddy Mentor that is directly related to their career or business goals. They are with this mentor for a minimum 6- weeks.
Step 6 - Upon Graduation, the mentee, Buddy Mentor and trainers conduct a one hour follow up to ensure that the path to success is clearly defined and all resources needed are engaged in the process. The counselor will connect with the mentee every 30 days for 6 months upon graduation. If more support is needed after 6 months, the mentee will go back through diagnostics and an action plan will be developed.
Step 7 - Each graduate is invited to attend the annual Graduation Dinner to meet sponsors, educators and other mentees.
WHY THIS PROGRAM WAS DEVELOPED:
This program is designed to provide tangible results (Diagnostic Data), accuracy in helping spouses prepare for a career path that suits their profile (Learning Series) and a comprehensive "gap free" career planning and preparation training the helps them avoid getting lost in the shuffle or having time delays.
Military Spouses face many hurdles in obtaining and finding a career given the ever changing lifestyle and a myriad of "experiences" that come with that constant change. The MSF works diligently to take all of the education, skills, work performance, volunteering and passion that is built over the years and helps military spouses translate that into a portable career or business they can have long-term success in.
